Broad Sky Resells WildBlue Service through Agents
Broad Sky, a satellite broadband reseller, has become one of the first enterprise-class resellers for WildBlue, which offers high-speed Internet access via satellite. Broad Sky now offers its SkyLink service powered by WildBlue for less than $1,000 in equipment and monthly prices starting at $69 that allows small businesses, distributed enterprises, and teleworkers to get broadband access anywhere in the United States. Broad Sky says SkyLink provides low latency of 650ms – compared with 1.5-2 seconds for most providers – and 85 percent of the available bandwidth nearly 100 percent of the time. Broad Sky also provides static IPs and service level agreements. SkyLink works with SSL VPNs and Broad Sky is testing a number of vendors’ IPSec VPNs to determine the best one for its new satellite network. For now, Broad Sky only is offering SkyLink through master and subagents.

Integrated Circuit
Broad Sky Networks, a different breed of channel partner that sees both the master agent and systems integrator sides of things. The company resells broadband satellite services to end users, but also to systems integrators, master agents, VARs and others. Broad Sky pays each of its partners a cut, while encouraging them to do their own billing. This “keeps their brand and name in front of the client and takes the onus off Broad Sky,” says President Mike Mudd.
